An eclectic palace built by Hungarian Freemasons in the 19th century. Just as the lives of the Freemasons were filled with mystery and mysticism, so too is the Mystery Hotel; shrouded in legends and secrets.
The hotel was built in 1886, when two different Masonic groups (the Blue Lodge and the Scottish Rite Grand Orient) merged to create the first headquarters of the Grand Symbolic Lodge of Hungary, which proposed the construction of a lodge house in 1890.
The hotel features 82 rooms and luxury suites. Each of the rooms, studios, and suites is designed in three different styles aligned with the style of Greek columns: Corinthian, Ionian, and Doric.

Most of the rooms face Podmaniczky and Vörösmarty streets, and some of our rooms offer stunning city views from the seventh floor of the hotel, where the rooms also have balconies.
An impressive hall, once held as a secret place by the Freemasons, now becomes the center of the hotel’s life; opening its doors to welcome guests where all our patrons can enjoy breakfast until 10:30 and return during the day for a drink or lunch until 3:00 in the afternoon. The Grand Hall serves dinner and drinks every day from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This hall, built in an Egyptian style, is characterized by its giant chandelier, columns, heavy curtains, and the two wrought iron spiral staircases leading to the Lodge. «The Grand Hall» accommodates 88 people, with 64 on the ground floor and an additional 24 people in the Lodge.
In the shade of a Doric column, you can admire a magnificent view of the city. The royal palace almost floats in front of the hotel. The Nyugati train station, designed by Eiffel, is an impressive building just a few steps away. In the distance, you can see Buda Castle, the Fisherman’s Bastion, and Gellért Hill. The Sky Garden awaits guests with special cocktails and refreshments, accommodating up to 50 people.
